Resolved Question: Is it possible to die if you are exposed to 30 degree weather for a long period of time?

Recently here where I live a college students body was found who had been missing since January 22nd, 2010. He was found in a college barn area. The thing is the night he went missing he was at a party. about four blocks away. Where students "claim" he wasn't that intoxicated. I looked up the weather history for Ames, Iowa the night of the 22nd and it was an abnormally warm night , with the low being 30 degrees. I assume there was snow on the ground as we had a rough winter. Is it possible if he stumbled there and passed out for him to die? They are looking into foul play but it seems pretty obvious it was alcohol overdose or maybe it was to cold? Interesting. Thank you very much. I am sure there will be an update. So very sad.
