Resolved Question: How long would it take a package to be delivered from New York to Iowa?

I mailed my friend a package yesterday, Monday December 12th, from Jamestown, NY (by Buffalo), to Ames, Iowa. What is the estimated delivery? The package I'd say was about 2 pounds, not that big, cost was $7.35 Are packages the same as letters? Because I mailed my 2 friends Christmas cards, I assume since one is in the same city, and the other is in Buffalo (hour away), they'll both get them today.
